If you are looking for outdoor school activities where hands-on learning in nature is the goal, La Jaira de Ana is a great choice. Our farm becomes an open-air classroom, where learning goes beyond the pages of a book and turns into a practical, immersive experience. Imagine your pupils exploring pens full of friendly animals, taking part in growing crops and discovering first-hand how the cycle of life works.
The visit, called “Granjerx por un día” (Farmer for a Day), offers an active, hands-on tour of the farm, where pupils can get to know the different facilities from a livestock, agricultural and production perspective. In this way, we help pupils across the island develop an intuitive, participatory understanding of local and organic production.
At the end of the tour, there will be a workshop on transforming both a product and a material, framed within the Sustainable Development Goals.
Workshops are adapted to the age and needs of each class:
These are the workshops we recommend by age group, but we are happy to adapt to whatever you feel is most suitable.
If you would like to arrange a specific activity linked to a particular topic or subject, this can also be organised.
The visit lasts 3 hours in total, with the option to extend the experience for €60 per additional hour.
Thanks to the Granjas Escuelas (School Farms) subsidy, we are able to offer the following special rates for schools:
To benefit from the subsidy, the school will need to complete the visit certification document that we will send, signed and stamped by the school.
Subsidised places are limited (up to the first 37 visits) and will be allocated in the order in which bookings are confirmed.
We want to make school visits even easier. That is why La Jaira de Ana will cover 50% of the transport cost, up to a maximum of €100 per school.
Examples:
€160 transport → La Jaira contributes €80 / School pays €80
€200 transport → La Jaira contributes €100 / School pays €100
€300 transport → La Jaira contributes €100 / School pays €200
This offer can be combined with the reduced Granjas Escuelas subsidy rate while both schemes remain available.
The booking process works as follows: La Jaira de Ana will book the transport with the coach company. We will then prepare a quote covering the full price of the visit and the transport.
Payment terms:
Prices shown do not include IGIC (Canary Islands General Indirect Tax). If the school requires an invoice, please let us know in advance and before making payment, so that the correct IGIC can be applied to the booking amount.
If we are not informed that an invoice is needed before payment, we will not be able to issue one afterwards.
Prices for additional services do not include IGIC.
To confirm your booking, a 50% deposit is required by bank transfer:
IBAN: ES83 2100 1575 1102 0022 7122
We would be grateful if you could send us the proof of payment by email.
If you need an invoice, please let us know before making payment so that the corresponding IGIC can be applied beforehand. Once payment has been made without an invoice having been requested in advance, it will not be possible to issue one afterwards.
Direct access to the farm is limited to coaches with a maximum of 33 seats.
Larger vehicles will need to drop pupils off at a point approximately 5–10 minutes’ walk from our facilities.
Cancellations are not permitted. Only date changes are permitted.
The date of the activity may be changed up to 3 days before the original date, subject to availability on the new date requested.
